Chalet/auberge ‘Il fera beau demain’ is located within 100 metres
of the Villard Reculas ski slopes. With 230 kilometres of ski slopes, the
skiing area of Alpe d’Huez, “Les Grandes Rousses’
extends from an altitude of 1300 to 3330 metres. Les Grandes Rousses is
one of the most advanced skiing areas in Europe, well known and loved by winter
sport enthusiasts for the excellent managed pistes, the snow quality, extensive
slope network, and for its abundant sunshine. This domain contains the skiing
areas and villages of: Alpe d’Huez, Auris, Oz, Vaujany and Villard-Reculas.
The
very modern ski lift system allows you to access quickly the top of ‘Pic
Blanc’ at 3330 metres. From the summit there is a superb view of the Alpine
summits including Mont Blanc and Mont Ventoux in the south. Experienced skiers
can descend from Pic Blanc taking either of two well known slopes in the Alps,
‘Le Tunnel’ and ‘la Sarenne - the longest piste in Europe at
16 kilometres.
Villard-Reculas
Villard-Reculas contains its own charming ski resort situated at 1550 metres.
The slopes are west-facing, quiet, varied and ideal for beginners, intermediate
and the more experienced skiers.
. Snowcanons
have been installed to ensure snow-sure conditions throughout the season.
A high-speed 4 man chair lift whisks you quickly in 7 minutes to the main section
of the Grandes Rousses-skiing area.
It is also possible to purchase a local ski pass for Villard-Reculas – making
it a cost
effective location: €13,50 per day winter 2007-2008.
Villard-Reculas has its own ESF-
ski school specializing in ski and snowboard instructions. You can take private
tuition or join group lessons. Depending on your level of competence you will
either remain in the quiet Villard-Reculas area or explore the enormous ski domain
‘Les Grandes Rousses.
There are also instructors available to take you off-piste.
Children
Children can use the free nursery slope or join the Villard Reculas ski school.
The school offers a secure and sunny beginner area for children from the age of
4. There are also classes with ESF for the more advanced children.
Non
Skiers
Non skiers can purchase a daily or weekly pedestrian lift pass that allows you
access to the lift system and also over 30 kilometres of walking pistes. You will
also benefit from the spectacular views throughout the area, or maybe explore
the many sunny restaurant terraces and meet up with friends and family.
Guided walks and snow-shoe excursions are organized in Villard-Reculas and other
locations in this fabulous area.
